    I love writing, and I hope to continue writing for as long as I have the ability. I want to work in an environment that keeps writers motivated to share the news of the day to their audience and continue to write enterprising stories that are important to the public.

    I realized in college that anyone can be taught to write well, the challenge for this business isn't writing, it is ideas; and I can promise ideas. Enterprise stories are what journalism is founded upon and they are the difference between news and information.

    I was born in Concord New Hampshire but I have been raised across the country, this allowed me to experience a wide variety of cultural norms. I have made my home in New England, the Midwest, and the outskirts of New York City. I am lucky to have travelled a little, in this country from Puerto Rico to Canada, and beyond that, from Central America to Europe.

    Art has been a shaping force in my life to date. My parents are both artists ( or perhaps more technically correct: my mother is an artist and my father a craftsman ). I had a serious dance education, and considered pursuing it as a life. But the most memorable heartbreak of my early life was that I wasn't a dancer good enough and strong enough to make it my interface with the world. What I am, and what I have always been, is a writer.

    I am the oldest of three children, which means I've alternated between being the perfect, accomplished child, and the rebel. Sometimes we write rules; sometimes we break them. Mostly I'm interested in the writing part - but I'm not beyond the occasional break.

    I am looking forward to how I can shape those rules.
